<Position Summary>
The Human Resources (HR) Manager serves as a consultant to business leaders to effectively remove barriers and align HR goals to Japanese parent’s business needs. They work with Centers of Excellence to develop and implement solutions while also formulating partnership across the HR function to deliver value added services to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The HR Manager works to build business capabilities, develop leaders, drive change efforts and acts as a strategic partner to management to help identify KPIs to drive desired improved performance.
<Position Responsibilities>
May include;
• Manages the activities of the HR support group, to ensure the needs of the facility and employees are met.
• Provides guidance and counsel employees, assisting with disciplinary actions.
• Administers programs to maintain effective employee relations through the equitable application of policies and procedures.
• Maintains an effective working relationship with Japanese parent organization and assist in internship projects.
• Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance
• Provides consulting to managers in achieving company objectives, and provide training and mentorship to less experienced team members.
• Analyzes trends and metrics (in partnership with specialist functions) to develop solutions, programs, and policies
• Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to help develop and implement Company programs.
• Participates in the development and implementation of human resources goals, objectives and systems to better serve the employee.
• Provides guidance and recommendations on organizational effectiveness and talent planning, succession planning, workforce retention, and employee engagement.
• Recommends innovative approaches policies and procedures to effect continual improvement of human resources department and services provided.
Participates in additional projects to support ongoing business needs.
<Knowledge & Skills>
• Strong knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnostics, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, employment laws etc.
• Consulting, conflict management, and business acumen.
• Strong and effective verbal / written communication, agility, high emotional intelligence, and ability to effectively build credibility and rapport with client group. Outstanding listening skills and able to communicate clearly with people at all levels of the organization.
• High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills
• Excellent time management skills and organizational skills
• Strong change management and process improvement skills
• Demonstrates strong people management skills
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and familiarity of HR database applications
• Delegation—the individual delegates work assignments, gives authority to work independently, sets expectations and monitors delegated activities.
• Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures and union agreements.
• Ability to use discretion and sensitivity of confidential information
• Ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly growing environment
Flexibility with work hours / days as needed
<条件:経験/学歴>
• Up to 8 years of HR experience
• 5+ years in a leadership/management role
Japanese speaking and writing ability is strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree required, degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred.
HR related certification desired, SHRM preferred.
