<POSITION SUMMARY>
As the General Manager, you will lead both the front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) teams, ensuring
that we meet our clients’ needs while upholding our highest standards and reputation. You will collaborate with
the owner and head chefs to create innovative strategies that extend beyond in-house dining, to enhance overall sales. Your core responsibilities will include hiring, training, and performance management of key FOH staff.
<ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:>
◆Guest Engagement
Collaborate directly with the owner and head chefs to develop and implement strategies that achieve
operational goals for all areas, including in-house dining, takeout/delivery, and catering.
Ensure consistent execution of food, beverage, service, and hospitality that aligns with the restaurant’s
vision and goals.
Provide strong leadership to unify FOH and BOH teams towards the common goal of continuously
elevating our service quality.
Address challenging guest situations with patience and tact; mediate conflicts between team members
effectively.
Collaborate with the marketing group for effective promotion
◆Business Acumen and Compliance
Research local sales building opportunities specific to the neighborhood, i.e., lunch to-go sales,
delivery, events, and large-party bookings.
Proactively manage prime costs by monitoring daily, weekly, monthly, and annual projections and
budgets, and managing inventory
Forecast and monitor weekly sales and labor numbers and adjust in the moment to ensure
hospitality and financial targets are achieved.
Communicate targets, goals, and data to the management team in order to achieve financial targets
in real time.
Ensure that HR practices are consistent with Respect Hospitality values and compliant with all local,
state and federal laws.
Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining
areas; ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and
ordinances.
◆Staff Management
Conduct weekly manager meetings and lead engaging, educational pre-shift meetings that motivate the
team.
Partner with head chefs to recruit, hire, train, and develop a strong, effective team.
Hold the team accountable for performance, providing coaching and counsel as needed.
◆KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
Minimum of 3 years of management experience in a high-quality food and beverage establishment
Business level English. Proficiency in the Japanese language is strongly preferred to enhance
communication and understanding of Japanese culinary traditions.
Strong operational skills with a comprehensive understanding of restaurant management.
In-depth knowledge of various Japanese culinary styles and techniques.
Familiarity with sake, wines, spirits, cocktails, and their appropriate food pairings.
Computer, software and reservation technology knowledge including Microsoft Office (Excel and Word),
Toast and OpenTable.
Excellent multitasking abilities and quick decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative workplace.
High standards for cleanliness and organization in both work and service areas.
Customer-focused perspective coupled with a strong work ethic.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

◆PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA,
and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative
productivity standards.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs; Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and climb
steps regularly.
Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands
◆COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $90,000 – $100,000 per year. Compensation will be commensurate with
experience, skills, and qualifications.
