Job Information

★at least 2-3 years of experience in import operations with supervisory experience preferred.

<General Position Summary>
This position is responsible to oversee the daily operation of impot team, ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of goods and supervising/guiding the subordinate employee, providing support in managing import operations, resolving issue and coordinating with departments. Depending on branches that you are assigned to work, your responsibility of essential job functions may differ.

<Essential Job Functions>
◆ IMPORT OPERATION

• Retrieve data from Emails and Fax.
• Obtain documents for upcoming shipments.
• Review documents and confirm the information with airlines, steamship lines, and freight forwarders.
• Contacts customs officials to affect release of incoming freight and resolve customs delays.
• Communicate with customer service dept. and sales dept. on any quotes that is needed.
• Check cargo availability, and issue delivery orders.
• Request and Issue billings.
• Input data and develop monthly reports as well as customer information.
• Supervise the completion of all required paperwork in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Communicate with the clients regarding pickup and delivery set up.

◆ SUPERVISING

• Supervise and support the import team in day-to-day operations.
• Provide leadership and guidance to ensure the team adheres to deadlines and quality standards.
• Monitor work progress, advises employees on work procedures and practices
• Resolve escalated customer service issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance.
• Communicate effectively with management and other departments to ensure alignment and smooth operations
.
◆ IMPORT CUSTOMER SERVICE

• Maintain effective communication with customers, brokers and overseas agents to manage expectations and resolve issues.
• Handle complex import inquiries and assist the team with difficult customer service issues.
• Ensure timely updates are provided to customers regarding shipment status, delays, or issues.
• Prepare and send invoices. Ensuring billing is accurate and timely.

◆ OTHER & MISCELLANEOUS

• Any project that is assigned by the manager and/or the Company.
• Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
• Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
• Maintains high ethical standards in the work place.
• Reports all irregular issues and problems to manager for solution.
• Maintains good communication with management, office staff members and outside contacts.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.

<Qualifications>
◆ Education & Work Experience
• Associate degree (A.A.) in accounting or equivalent: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in import operations or logistics, with supervisory experience preferred.

◆ Tools & Equipment
• General office equipment including phones, fax, copier, personal computer, U.S. Customs Harmonized Tariff Schedule, FDA Product Code Builder, etc.
• Software includes the use of Windows operating system, MS Office.
• Any tools, equipments, software that are required to be used.

◆ Certificates / Licenses
• Certificate of IAC Security Training (IACSSP) and STA (Security Threat Assessment) ID required by DHS-TSA.
• HAZMAT Certification (IATA or IMDG)
• Any other certificate or training records that are required by each department, position/title, or government agency.
